The zoo’s veterinary team is always striving to get to the ‘root’ of the problem. Earlier this month, African lioness Mali underwent a root canal on her top right incisor. Thanks to the stellar work of the vet team, she was back in her habitat with the rest of the pride a day later and is doing well. Let’s hear it for the veterinary team keeping our critters healthy!

Pistachio Sea Turtle
Brookfield Zoo is thrilled to introduce Pistachio, an approximately 13-year-old female Kemp’s ridley sea turtle. Pistachio was found injured in the Gulf of Mexico after being struck by a boat propeller.
