In the north of Australia there are two seasons each year – the ‘wet’ and the ‘dry’ – with both seasons pushing the elements to the extreme. In this environment, the wildlife of North Queensland has evolved to accommodate and endure the harsh ‘dry’ until the onset of the monsoons that signal the start of the ‘wet’. Steve and Terri Irwin journey to the Outback of North Queensland to study the Australian Freshwater Crocodile in it’s natural environment as it struggles to survive in the ever diminishing rivers of the ‘dry’ to lay it’s eggs and hatch it’s young before the deluge of water from the ‘wet’ links the rivers once again into a swollen flooded torrent.
