Luke Combs: One Of Today’s Brightest Country Stars

Luke Combs was born on March 2, 1990 in Huntersville, North Carolina. He is a Country singer-songwriter. As a boy he performed in school musicals, and he also sang in a church choir.  When he grew old enough to attend university he began performing at a bar where he worked as a bouncer. He soon moved to Nashville to further pursue his music career. 

Between 2014 and 2016 Combs released three EPs. The Way She Rides, was released in February 2014; Can I Get An Outlaw was also released in 2014, and This One’s For You was released in 2016. In June 2017, he released his first major label album which was also titled This One’s For You, which was on Columbia Nashville and River House Artists. This One’s For You made it to number one on Billboard’s Top Country Albums. In June 2018, Combs released a deluxe copy titled This One’s for You Too; included on that compilation were five bonus tracks. On November 8, 2019 he released his second album What You See Is What You Get  which included singles such as; “Beer Never Broke My Heart”, “Even Though I’m Leaving”, and “Lovin’ on You.”

On June 24, 2022 Combs released his third album, Growin’ Up which included singles such as; “Doin’ This”, and “Going, Going, Gone.” On March 24, 2023 He released his fourth album titled Gettin’ Old on which there is a version of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car.”  

Combs has won  several awards since he began performing, including: 

  1. New Country Artist Of The Year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in 2018.
  2. New Male Artist Of The Year at the 54th Academy Of Country Music Awards in 2019.
  3. Country Artist Of The Year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in 2019.
  4. Country Artist Of The Year at the Billboard Music Awards 2019.
  5.  Male Vocalist Of The Year at the 54th Annual Country Music Association Awards in 2020.
  6. Album Of The Year for What You See Is What You Get at the 54th Annual Country Music Association Awards in 2020.
  7. Songwriter-Artist Of The Year at the Nashville Songwriter Awards in 2021.

Some of Combs’s charitable endeavors include assisting Guitars4Vets which is an organization that uses music therapy to assist veterans who are struggling with PTSD. He has also helped St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.in their fundraising efforts.

Luke Combs has had a fairly successful career so far and he no doubt has a prosperous road ahead.
