In Sri Lanka’s ancient temple city, the jungle has reclaimed the ruins, and monkeys now reign. Among them is the Tufts Troop, a family of regal Tufted Grey Langurs led by alpha male Pamu. With silvery fur and black faces, these langurs share their home with two other monkey species: cheeky Toque Macaques, who sometimes bully them out of fruit trees but provide free grooming, and elusive purple-faced leaf monkeys, who rarely descend from the treetops.
