To honor our incredible wildlife, Defenders has declared this the Year of Coexistence. Simply put — coexistence is helping people share the landscape with wildlife and using innovative tools to reduce the conflicts that often occur with wildlife in their natural habitats.

Who better than the King of the Jungle paired with our native sunflower to reflect our deep, caring commitment to conservation of wildlife and wild places.

Elephant Collaring in Africa

We protect more than you think. Your visit helps us save wild animal populations globally. This elephant collaring project is ongoing and aims to protect elephants from poaching and negative human-elephant contact. These GPS collars alert Rangers to the herds’ locations so they can be redirected to safety.
