Centers for Species Survival (C2S2), in collaboration with Endangered Wolf Center and Running Wild Media, launched a film project highlighting the dire need to stand up for the American red wolf. The film emphasizes the species’ important role in our ecosystem and how their survival will benefit humans. We sponsored the creation of Resilience as a free and inspirational conservation education tool.
The “Wings of Asia” aviary is one of the premiere exhibits at Zoo Miami. Housing hundreds of Southeast Asian birds, representing over 70 different species, it is the largest aviary of its kind in the entire Western Hemisphere. Incorporating a wide variety of plants and mature trees as well as beautiful water features, it is much more than a bird exhibit, it is an environmental exhibit showcasing a variety of habitats. The Duke Lemur Center is located on 80 wooded acres in Duke Forest, approximately two miles from Duke University’s main campus. During the warm months of the year (typically mid-April to mid-October), a large number of our lemurs get to free-range in large tracts of forest, called Natural Habitat Enclosures (NHEs).
Who doesn’t love baby lemurs?! Here at the Duke Lemur Center, we’re proud to have celebrated more than 3,285 births since our founding in 1966. But these little ones aren’t just cute; they’re crucial for the long-term survival of their species.
