Did you know that Gros Morne National Park is restoring its forests by planting more than one million native trees?

For years, forest ecosystems in the park were heavily impacted by moose overbrowsing. Moose, an introduced species in Newfoundland, caused significant damage to native vegetation. In response, Parks Canada launched a moose population reduction program in 2011, which has led to healthier forests across the park.
