Each year, over a billion birds die after colliding with glass they can’t see. But what if we could change that? In this video, we take you inside a specialized flight tunnel at Western University in London, Ontario, where researchers are testing window treatments designed to make glass visible to birds. Using live birds in carefully controlled experiments, the team evaluates which glass markers are most effective at helping to prevent deadly collisions. This research is a collaboration between the Centre for Animals on the Move at Western University, led by Brendon Samuels, and Guardian Glass, a global leader in innovative glazing solutions.
