Join National Outreach Representative, Caitlin Cattelino, and fifteen wildlife advocates for a day on the Hill in Washington, DC!

Transcript:
Hey there! I’m Caitlin Cattelino, Defenders national outreach representative. Usually I’m in our Denver office, but today I’m in Washington, D.C. And joining me are 15 wildlife advocates from five different states. Together, we are urging our representatives and our senators to support endangered species protection. In our meetings, we asked our members of Congress to speak up in support of the ESA and to also take action to establish a national biodiversity strategy. To prepare for our meetings, Defenders hosted an advocacy training where activists learned more about the congressional attacks facing the ESA and the most effective strategies for speaking up for wildlife in the halls of Congress. Activists met with 19 congressional offices, including Senator King from Maine, Senator Reed from Rhode Island, and Senators Tester and Daines from Montana. It’s so important to protect endangered species in the face of an unprecedented biodiversity crisis. And no doubt our advocates, enthusiasm, support and passionate voices made a difference to our lawmakers. If you’d like more information about how you can speak up for wildlife, check out our website.

Defenders of Wildlife works on the ground, in the courts, and on Capitol Hill to protect and restore imperiled wildlife and habitats across North America. Together, we can ensure a future for the wildlife and wild places we all love.
