Meet Our NEWEST African Penguin Trio!

This YouTube video was produced by the Georgia Aquarium.

Say hello to Georgia Aquarium’s newest (and cutest) residents — three brand-new baby penguins! These adorable chicks are already stealing hearts as they waddle into the world, and we’re thrilled to share a behind-the-scenes look at their first stages of life. From their first chirp to their first swim, join us in welcoming our newest three!

African Penguins(Spheniscus demersus) are listed as critically endangered on IUCN’s Red List. Many of the penguins on exhibit at Georgia Aquarium are part of a Species Survival Plan (SSP) coordinated by the Association of Zoos And Aquariums (AZA). These plans promote genetic diversity within populations of endangered species residing in zoological institutions by selective and strategic breeding — helping ensure a future for these remarkable birds.
