Feeding And Breeding Frenzy | Arabian Seas 103

This YouTube video was produced by Love Nature.

Off Oman’s coast, a seasonal explosion of life transforms the reefs into a feeding and breeding frenzy. Nutrient-rich waters fuel a plankton boom, drawing ocean travelers like endangered Hawksbill Turtles(Eretmochelys imbricata) nesting seabirds, and the mighty Whale Shark(Rhincodon typus). Over 500 of these gentle giants, from 9-foot juveniles to 37-ton behemoths, gather to gorge on plankton. Meanwhile, the reef teems with tropical fish, dancing shrimp, and hunting mackerel, all seizing the seasonal bounty. But as the monsoon fades, the cold, nutrient-rich waters retreat, and the reef returns to its tranquil state—until next year’s feast begins again.
