Video Transcript:

Hello, I’m Andrew Bowman, Defenders of Wildlife President & CEO.

Today, I’m in northwest Washington. The event that I’m here to attend is a celebration organized by the Friends of the North Cascades Grizzly Bear Coalition, and I’m here to say thank you to all the Tribal nations, volunteers, and organizations that have dedicated their time to making sure that Grizzly Bears can return to the North Cascades.

This work has gone on for years, with the Snoqualmie Tribe and the Upper Skagit Tribes having been especially instrumental in the work to return the bears to their historic homelands and to make whole an awe-inspiring ecosystem.

We are now closer than ever to the realization of Grizzly reintroduction. After the Biden administration gave the green light earlier this year.

The commitment and perseverance from the Snoqualmie Tribe and the Upper Skagit Tribe
and so many others, including Defenders Of Wildlife, is truly inspirational and demonstrates the achievements we can secure through our combined steadfast efforts.

We eagerly await the moment that Grizzlies are back in the North Cascades where they belong.

And in the interim, we will continue to work with our allies and partners to make sure that there is a home here for the Grizzlies.
