Lights Out for Birds – Protect Their Journeys

Spring is in the air and so are millions of migrating birds flying across the U.S. Intense lights can attract and disorient birds, drawing them into the dangers of cities. Every year close to a billion birds die in building collisions in the U.S. and Canada alone. With Texas home to several bright cities along the critical central flyway, BirdCast has made a mission of asking building owners, businesses, developers, and homeowners to turn off nonessential lights during peak migration time.
