Rescued Sea Turtles – Georgia Aquarium & Partners Provide Temporary Home to Turtles in Need

✈️Incoming! 🐢 On Monday, December 14, 2020, four cold-stunned loggerhead turtles were flown in from New England to stay with us for a period of time. They are in need of care before they can be released back into the ocean during warmer months. During cold weather, turtles are susceptible to hypothermia and sometimes need a little help. These are not the only turtles being cared for at zoos, aquariums, and rescue organizations – this mission to help hundreds of cold-stunned turtles is a multi-institution effort and we are so proud to work alongside our partners and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
