On Monday, Dec. 7, 120 sea turtles were flown to Texas after being found on Cape Cod, Massachusetts beaches suffering from hypothermia and other complications in recent weeks. Staff from NOAA Fisheries and the New England Aquarium helped load the turtles on to the plane before they arrived in Texas. They will receive expert treatment and care from seven facilities in Texas, including the Houston Zoo, and be released into the Gulf of Mexico as soon as they are healthy enough to return.
